Dr. Amit Saxena is an Associate Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering & Geoengineering at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais. He completed his PhD in Petroleum Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, with over 10 years of academic experience with 50+ Peer reviewed publications.
His research spans drilling fluids, enhanced oil recovery, and oil-well cementing, and he has been actively working on the application of AI/ML in the oilfield sector, with publications spanning formation evaluation, drilling operations, and reservoir/fluid diagnostics. He currently leads the DGH-sponsored CBM-AI project applying agentic AI to coalbed methane block evaluation, and has developed an AI-based interfacial tension and contact-angle tool showcased by FIPI at India Energy Week. He holds two filed patents and serves as Institutional Training & Placement Co-Incharge at RGIPT.
